UAIT Jewelry Design Students Complete Internship in South Korea

SOUTH KOREA — Two students from UAIT's Jewelry Design Program have successfully completed a three-week internship in South Korea, marking a significant milestone in UAIT's commitment to giving students real-world, international exposure in their field.

IMPANO Parfait and Neria IRADUKUNDA traveled to South Korea from 8th May to 26th May 2026, where they immersed themselves in the jewelry industry and visited some of the most advanced institutions the country has to offer. The experience gave them a firsthand look at professional jewelry-making practices, modern techniques, and the global standards that shape the industry today.

A Warm Welcome from UAIT Members in Korea

Upon arriving in South Korea, the two students were warmly received by UAIT members based in Korea. The warm welcome set the tone for what would become a deeply enriching three weeks. Throughout their stay, the students were guided and supported by the UAIT community in Korea, ensuring they made the most of every opportunity available to them.

Exploring the Jewelry Industry in Korea

During their three weeks in South Korea, IMPANO Parfait and Neria IRADUKUNDA gained hands-on experience in the jewelry industry. They visited advanced institutions and workshops where they observed and learned from skilled craftspeople and industry professionals. The internship gave them exposure to techniques, tools, and design philosophies that are at the forefront of the global jewelry market.

South Korea is home to a thriving jewelry and creative crafts industry, and experiencing it firsthand gave the students a broader perspective on how their craft fits into the global picture.
