KIGALI, RWANDA — On 22nd June 2026, the United African Institute of Technology hosted a special reunion and career guidance session at the UAIT Campus, bringing together the entire Jewelry Design 2025/2026 intake and the Deputy Vice Chancellor. The meeting gave each graduate the space to share their story — where they are now, what they have been working on since completing their studies and internship, and where they see themselves heading in the jewelry industry.
The atmosphere was warm and candid. One by one, graduates opened up about their post-study experiences — their challenges, early wins, plans for the future, and the lessons the UAIT Jewelry Design programme had given them. It was, as one graduate described it, exactly the kind of session they had needed: "Like a real career guidance — but from people who actually know us."
Where Are They Now?
The six graduates of the 2025/2026 Jewelry Design intake each came back with their own story:
Justine moved straight from the internship into professional employment in the jewelry industry, putting her UAIT training to work immediately.
Nicholaus also secured a job immediately after completing the internship programme, demonstrating the direct impact of UAIT's industry-aligned training.
Belyse is actively pursuing a professional internship to deepen her practical experience before taking her next career step.
Brigitte is in the process of securing a professional internship placement to continue building her portfolio and industry connections.
Parfait is preparing to launch his own jewelry production company — a bold step that puts his UAIT craftsmanship training at the centre of a new business venture.
Neria is focused on developing a strong professional portfolio, establishing his identity as a jeweller and positioning himself for future opportunities in the field.
Remarks from the Deputy Vice Chancellor
After listening to each graduate's update, the Deputy Vice Chancellor addressed the group with sincere encouragement. He praised the graduates for the courage it takes to step out into a competitive industry and commended those already working for setting a strong example. For those still on the path — searching for internships, building portfolios, or preparing to launch ventures — he reminded them that the journey after graduation is rarely linear, and that consistency and craft are what distinguish professionals in the long run.
The DVC made a clear commitment: UAIT will continue to provide guidance, mentorship, and institutional support to its graduates even after they leave the campus. The door remains open for every alumnus of the Jewelry Design programme who needs a reference, a connection, or simply advice as they grow in their careers.

It was a fitting close to an evening that captured something important about what UAIT stands for: a community that does not end at graduation, but continues to walk alongside its students as they build their futures.
